MATCH PREVIEW: Seaton Burn v Rothbury
Reds player boss Tom Macpherson was left gutted as his side conceded in added time to go down 1-0 at Whitburn & Cleadon.
The Rothbury defender felt that they had done enough to merit a hard-earned draw on the difficult longest trip of the season, and with a little bit more luck at the other end they could have sneaked it themselves.
“We were really disappointed to concede in the 93rd minute and I thought we did enough to deserve a point,” said Tom.
“Whitburn put us under a bit more pressure in the second half but I still think we had the better chances. We just need to be a bit more ruthless in front of goal.”
Rothbury remain in third spot, though Joe Warren’s late, late drive drew Whitburn level on points with them.
“I thought there was some excellent performances, Angus Stout and keeper William Hindmarsh in particular. We take those positives into Saturday, away to Seaton Burn.”
The game kicks off at 2pm at the Welfare Ground on Front Street. Seaton Burn are in 14th spot and the Reds will be looking to go into the festive period on a high.
